The episodes for the fifteenth season of the anime series Naruto: Shippuden are based on Part II for Masashi Kishimoto's manga series. The season focuses the battle between Naruto Uzumaki and Madara Uchiha. The episodes are directed by Hayato Date, and produced by Pierrot and TV Tokyo.[1] The season aired from July 2013 to January 2014.[2]
The English dub of the season began airing on Neon Alley on November 28, 2015 until episode 338 on March 25, 2016, when the digital platform was beginning its shutdown and removed the anime from its rotation. The season would make its English television debut on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block and premiere from December 13, 2020 to July 4, 2021. "Kurama" (九喇嘛, Kurama) is episode 328 of the Naruto: Shippūden anime.
If we add Naruto and Naruto Shippuden together, we find more than 275 filler episodes out of the 720 that make up the anime. In other words, almost 40%. So, for those of you lucky enough to be entering Konoha for the first time, or for those of you who feel like going back and forgetting Boruto, we leave you with a list that includes all the filler episodes of the anime. Will you join us?
The first part of Naruto consists of 220 episodes, of which 91 are filler episodes (more than 40%). Luckily, most of the "non-canon" episodes pile up in the final stretch, where there are more than 70 in a row, making it quite easy to dodge them.
Naruto Shippuden, set two and a half years after Naruto, has twice as many episodes, 500, and twice as many filler episodes, with 188 episodes (38% of the total). They are much more complicated to avoid, because there are several so-called "mixed" episodes that include filler and the occasional canon scene. In general, we recommend avoiding the mixed ones. The canon scenes do not justify their viewing because they last only a few seconds and are remembered via flashback at the beginning of the next episode that is purely canon. But there is a caveat. The last 20 episodes, considered mixed, are worth watching even with their ups and downs, as they serve as an emotional farewell, help you connect with Boruto and contain more Kishimoto material than the rest. With these considerations, you should avoid "just" the following ones:
Naruto filler episodes are not part of the original storyline which featured in the manga series. The main purpose of fillers is to maintain a healthy gap between the anime and manga, this allows the manga artist more time to create storylines before they are adapted into the anime series.
This Naruto Shippuden filler list is necessary to watch this anime, because of the exaggerated amount of fillers added. Its prequel Naruto and its sequel Boruto, also have many original episodes. Naruto Shippuden has 500 episodes divided into 21 seasons and 27 arcs, of which 192 episodes are fillers, 20 mixed, 2 specials, and 26 episodes were adapted from novels.
Naruto Shippuden filler episodes make up 42% of the series, including mixed episodes. The special episodes and adapted from novels have a percentage of 6% and only 260 episodes were adapted from the manga, which is equivalent to 52% from the anime.
The reason for the excessive fillers they added was because the anime was very popular and they wanted to lengthen its history (something similar happens with One Piece and Bleach). As if that wasn't enough, in some canon episodes they added filler parts to make it difficult to skip.
In this Naruto Shippuden filler list, episodes will be marked depending on whether they are canon and filler, detailing what you have to watch or skip. The movies and ovas will be ordered according to their Chronology, this so that you can watch Naruto Shippuden in order. This guide will be divided by arcs and seasons so you can watch it on any platform.
Naruto Shippuden has 14 filler arcs, almost all of these episodes are irrelevant and unnecessary to watch. Some arcs are worth watching and others are worth skipping, either because they're adapted from novels or just don't entertain, and I'll mention those below: 2ff7e9595c
